An economic storm is upon us. While right-wingers and media whores engage in denial and disinformation and clueless liberals rally behind Saint Obama, intelligent people are asking questions. What REALLY caused it? How bad will it get, and can we survive it? How can we fix our economic woes? And what do Bill Gates and your local school board have to do with all of this?

Welcome to Great Depression II, a website that focuses on the current global economic crisis, which a growing number of people refer to as the Second Great Depression.

About This Site
GDII Blog

If this is your first visit, I strongly recommend you read the Introduction and the article Comparing Depressions. You will also enjoy the information about various nation’s economic situations I incorporated from the CIA World Factbook into this site’s Reference section.

In the meantime, I’ve been working even harder on my primary political website, Politix. You can also find some information about ecnomy-related topics there.

GDII might be thought of as three projects in one. First, it features my analysis of the economic situation, drawing on my political insight but at the same time shaped by my biases and limitations. Second, it’s an all around economic crisis reference, featuring other people’s opinions and ideas, charts and graphs and other reference tools.

Finally, the project includes a number of blogs, forums and social groups, offering visitors an opportunity to interact and share their insights and ideas. (See the links on the left and right.)

Though the topic is obviously depressing, I hope you enjoy your visit. If you value truth as I do, you may even find a silver lining somewhere in this stinking mess.
